Default Moar Random Questions 'n stuff (With a point... hopefully)! ^^'

Hey all, ... again...

So... yeah, a few more questions, hopefully I've improved *shifty*

First question's about the Pre-Searing title Defender of Ascalon. I read from the wiki that it would take months to achieve on just a casual play time, and several weeks for a dedicated player. But it also said to "avoid teaming up with another person". I already have at earlier levels, so will that affect anything? And what's the best level to start farming the Northlands?

Secondly, I demolished my old build and remodeled it, so different builds I use are-

A splinter-barrager -
Barrage ~ 2 quick activating bow attacks (Probably pen attack and Needling shot) ~ D-shot or Savage shot ~ Splinter weapon ~ Troll Unguent ~ Antidote Signet ~ Res Signet
Marksmanship - 14, Expertise - 10, Wilderness survival - 6, and Channeling - 6

And my current build -
Burning arrow ~ Keen Arrow ~ D-shot ~ Kindle Arrows ~ Conjure Flame ~ Troll ~ Antidote ~ Res
Same attributes as above, just Channeling is Fire Magic

So my questions (and opinions) are:
1) The splinter barrage build is hard to keep up from the Splinter weapon going down so fast (3 attacks for me). So should I keep spamming Splinter weapon or put it on the heroes' skillbars?
2) My current build is the strongest I've tried by far, I can take down Eles and Mesmers and other casters in PvP in about 2-3 shots, but in PvE it's the slowest thing ever and hard to spike anything effectively and quick enough. So is there anything I can replace with a faster activating bow attack, or is the build okay where it is?

Does the Waiting Game quest have some sort of expiration date? My relative tried it and said it might've expired, is it true?

Lastly, why are there some mindless idiots in RA, or actually the game? Heck, I always get spammed and flamed by whispers and when I try to reply back they're offline =/ Some guy said I sucked because there was a "suspected leecher" on our team and he was the only one to report it.
Sorry for the little rant

Any advice or answers are appreciated. Cheers ^.^

Everything you need to know about LDoA; http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Legen...der_of_Ascalon The reason for going around solo is so you can get the most XP per kill. The reason it takes so long is because once you get up there in levels, there are fewer and fewer enemies that give XP, and once you hit 16, you have to start death leveling - which takes several hours of AFK to get the baddies leveled up enough to get some XP from them.

Can't comment on your builds, don't know enough about the Ranger Profession.

No quests expire as long as you don't abandon it, it will stay in your quest log.

No one really knows why there are mindless idiots in RA - they just seem to congregate there. When playing there, develope a thick skin and don't worry about the flamers.

wiki says avoid cause i think it can cause you to miss out on a quest. just means 1 more deathlevel session so dont worry. i went in to the north @ lvl 9 war cause i got bored. it's whatever you feel comfortable with.

if you finish it it will disappear. otherwise it shouldn't.

that's why you don't waste your time in RA.

For LDoA info, you might also want to check out the guides and videos on presearing.com.

For LDoA I would recommend pairing up with someone until you can solo the bosses. After that for death leveling pairing up can be useful provided they don't want the exp and can be afk for a few hours. In that case the enemies would get double exp for kill and level up faster. Just make sure that your partner is dead when you make the final kill otherwise you will split the exp. Duel accounts is probably nice here

regarding the waiting game quest.

The NPC required for that quest was removed because festival quests are only available during that festival so yes, that quest is gone.

The only other time that this happens is exclusive quests (mostly in NF) and Pre-Searing quests.

Thanks for the input! I'll be sure to check the presearing.com thing when I have the chance... my computer's down again so I don't wanna be too anxious to start the death leveling stuff

Yep, I knew that, I already have the quest active. Actually, I was a few minutes too late to do a costume brawl, Bobby had already disappeared =/

Last time I went in the Northlands was at level 7 (now I'm level 8 on the pre-searing character) as a monk. My comrade and I went to face a meek little group of ravaging charr. She rushed in after some "planning", and I was able to get out one healing spell before she exploded. I think that was the time I forgot my res, too.

Do charr (or death-leveled enemies) gain attributes/damage/armor bonuses as they level? And while I'm death-leveling them, could I just go afk, maybe eat something or take a dump or go ride a bike while it's in progress? Can they go beyond level 20?

Sorry for the numerous questions, and I hope I'm not asking any questions answered already or anything, but if so, please be a lamp unto my feet and post a link or something.

*Edit!*

Is it true that dye drops more frequently in Pre? Cuz in the catacombs I got my first dye - black dye, then the skellie right next to it dropped a silver ^^ If I keep farming for dye in Pre, will I never have that kind of drop rate again? Or will I...?

They're still a rare drop, but since there isn't actually many things available to be dropped in the item pool in presearing in the first place, dyes ends up having a higher probability to appear.

Charr and monsters in general can go beyond level 20 if im not mistaken but i have no idea about those attributes/armor bonuses but i would highly doubt that cos u havent rezoned so i assume they have the same armor bonuses + attributes but as i said i cant confirm this.

In pre-searing some people create a farming character just for that. In pre there is a high chance of dropping dyes and there is no loot-scale like in post-searing which means you can aggro all foes you want and kill them as fast as u want and skill get the maximum amount of loot and also enemies WILL NOT scatter from AoE like Fire Storm and Symbol of Wrath which makes the farming/killing loads faster :P
